Division Commander


Captain Ronald G. Crowson, born in
Birmingham Alabama, has been employed by
the City of Panama City Beach since
March 10, 1983. Captain Crowson was
first hired by the Fire Department in
1983 and joined the Panama City Beach
Police Auxiliary Program in
1984. Captain Crowson went on to
lateral transfer into the Police
Department in 1986 and was assigned to
the Uniformed Patrol Division. Captain
Crowson worked through the ranks,
becoming a Field Training Officer, and
eventually becoming one of the first
Traffic Accident Reconstructionist
within the department’s
history. Captain Crowson also became
one of the first certified K-9
Instructors within the department,
receiving his training from the Alabama
Canine Law Enforcement Officers Training
Center, located in Tuscaloosa Alabama.
Captain Crowson has been a member of the
Florida Police Chief's Association since
2009. He is also a Master Mason and a
member of the Shaddai Shrine Temple.
Promoted to the rank of Captain in
January of 2002 and assigned to the
position of Administrative Division
Commander since May of 2001, he is
charged with supervising the
department’s Communications Division. Captain Crowson also
maintains all the Police Officer’s
records and certifications with F.D.L.E.
Captain Crowson is also the departments
information / technology officer and
maintains all of the departments in
house and mobile computer systems.
