Motorcycle Unit

The Panama City Beach Police Department maintains a police motorcycle unit as a supplement to the normal patrol functions of the department.  The unit is made up of several officers of the department who are experienced in motorcycle operations.  This qualification is in addition to their normal patrol duties.  The "Motor" unit is normally utilized for general patrol, traffic enforcement, parades and escort duties as well as during Spring Break and the Thunder Beach Motorcycle rallies.  In addition, Motor Officers are more approachable which results in citizens being able to discuss their problems and form better partnerships with police.  This allows for better problem solving, and improves the quality of life for members of the community.
