Daniel Chadwick (Chad) Lindsey, born and raised in Geneva, Alabama, settled in Panama City Beach in 1989 while attending Gulf Coast Community College.  Captain Lindsey gained his law enforcement Certificate of Compliance through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Standards and Training Commission in May of 1990 while serving as an Auxiliary Officer with the Panama City Beach Police Department.  In February of 1991 he was accepted for a full time employment as a sworn officer assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division.  While in Patrol, Captain Lindsey served as a Field Training Officer and a K-9 Officer and was promoted to the rank of Corporal in July of 1995.  In September of 1995 Captain Lindsey was assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division where he served as a felony investigator.  In September of 1997 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and in October of 1998 became the Investigative Division's Assistant commander.  Captain Lindsey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in November of 2000 and remained in the Investigative Division as the Assistant Commander.  In August of 2010 Lindsey was assigned as the Criminal Investigative Division Commander and in October, 2010 he was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Captain Lindsey is experienced in many areas of law enforcement to include Computer Voice Stress Analysis, Hostage Negotiation, Special Weapons and Tactics and is a certified instructor in Flash Bangs, Chemical Agents, Chemical Munitions and Less than Lethal Munitions.  Captain Lindsey has served as a member of the Southern Association of Voice Stress Analysts and the Florida Association of hostage negotiators where he served as Assistant Regional Director covering seventeen (17) counties in the Florida Panhandle.

On May 7, Captain Lindsey was assigned the duties of "Special Operations" where he took on the responsibilities of Risk Management, Internal Investigations, Grants and Training.
